CONFERENCE PUBLICATIONS
1. PROCEEDINGS
As in previous editions (ICTE2002, m-ICTE2003 and m-ICTE2005), papers presented at m-ICTE2006 will be published in a Proceedings Volume edited by the Organizing Committee (Ed.: A. Méndez-Vilas), and it will be distributed amongst all the attendees at the conference.
The book will be entitled "Current Developments in Technology-Assisted Education (2006)" and it will be published in a citeable form, with an ISBN code assigned, for it to have a broad international visibility. Besides, as it is usual in this series of conferences, all papers will be available at the conference website some months after the conference.
The printed Volume is intended to be ready for distribution at the beginning of the conference. For this reason, all the potential contributors are strongly encouraged to follow the deadlines strictly.2. JOURNAL SPECIAL ISSUES
We are pleased to announce that some leading international publications will edit special issues based on (research) papers presented at m-ICTE2006. Papers about projects descriptions, technical notes, divulgation columns, and similar papers are very interesting for the Conference, but they cannot be considered for journal publications (they will be included in the book edition).
A selection of authors with very good research papers will be invited to write extended versions of them for their publication in several special issues. At this moment, we are negotiating with several journals, which will be announced in further communication.
As an example, we briefly list the special issues produced in one of the editions of this conference: m-ICTE2003VIRTUAL PARTICIPATION
- Journal of Educational Media (JEM), Volume 29 Number 3 October 2004.
Special Issue: "Content and affect in E-learning: Contributions from the Second International Conference on Multimedia and ICTs in Education (mICTE2003)."
Guest Editors: Janet McCracken and A. Méndez-Vilas.
Published by Routledge Taylor and Francis Group.
http://journalsonline.tandf.co.uk/link.asp?id=uf2rcyvuw4t9
- International Journal of Learning Technology (IJLT), Volume 1 - Issue 4 - 2005
"Special Issue on Multimedia and ICTS in Education"
Guest Editors: Antonio Méndez-Vilas and Luis Palacios.
http://www.inderscience.com/browse/index.php?journalID=87&year=2005&vol=1&issue=4
Thinking on those researchers directly related with the Conference topics but unable to attend it personally (usually due to insufficient funding to cost all the conference expenses: travel, accommodation, registration, etc.), a Virtual Participation modality will be established, with the same validity than "physical" one (certificates, publications, etc.).
For this kind of presentations, authors will be requested to send "virtual posters" ("Power Point" presentations, for example) to be exposed at the PCs available at the posters room, as well as the corresponding paper (if any). Every virtual paper/poster will have an electronic forum associated, which will allow interested researchers and authors to e-interact, even after the end of the Conference.
Authors of this kind of posters are requested to reply or discuss the commentaries/questions on their paper(s). If you are interested in this kind of participation, please indicate it both in your abstract and your pre-registration forms.COLLABORATION PROJECTS: SEARCH FOR PARTNERS
m-ICTE2006 will also serve as a platform for partners search for trans-national collaboration projects, especially for the EU Sixth Framework Program (Networks of Excellence, Integrated Projects and Specific Targeted Research or Innovation Project).
If you are interested in taking part, please send us the corresponding form available at the website.RESEARCH GROUPS
Send details of your group activities (research topics, members, projects, publications...). The booklet with all participating groups will be distributed at the conference and/or posted at the conference website.SOCIAL PROGRAM
The Social Program for accompanying people is already available at the conference website in its preliminary form (detailed schedules to be determined) For any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us at m-icte2006@formatex.org
We would also appreciate if you could disseminate this Call for Papers through your Department or Institution.Thank you for your time, and we look forward to meeting you in Seville in November.

4th Annual AERO Conference June 28th - July 1st, 2007
Russell Sage College, Troy, NY, U.S.A.
Visit our brand new website at http://www.AEROConference.com!
You are cordially invited to the Alternative Education Resource Organization's fourth annual AERO conference. For the fourth year in a row the AERO conference will bring together educators, students, parents, and many others interested and/or involved in educational alternatives from around the U.S., Canada, and the world (see our Interesting Facts page for more info). From Public Alternative to Unschooling we will have a many educational alternatives represented (some more examples include: Montessori, Waldorf, Steiner, Choice, Democratic, Homeschool, Open, Charter, Free, Sudbury, Holistic, Virtual, Magnet, Early Childhood, Reggio Emilia, Indigo, Krishnamurti, Quaker, Libertarian, Independent, Progressive, Community, Cooperative, and many more!).
This year's conference theme is "Widening the Circle," but even with the theme, the conference will in no way be limited to just that. Workshops and presentations will be made on a wide range of topics. In fact, there will be open workshop time throughout the conference where workshops, presentations, and special events will be entirely up to the attendees to organize! Last year we had over seventy-five unique workshops and presentations run by the attendees. This year we fully expect to match and possibly eclipse that number! A complete listing of workshops that have already been scheduled can be found on our Workshops page and our a complete listing of workshops from last year can be found on our Previous Workshops page.
This year we have seven wonderful keynote speakers: Alfie Kohn* (invited*), John Taylor Gatto, Matt Hern, Gail E. Thomas, Joel Spring, Arnie Langberg, and Lynn Stoddard. We will also have a number of special events including documentaries, keynote panel discussions, workshops by Lynn Stoddard, Arnie Langberg, Gail E. Thomas, Matt Hern, Jerry Mintz, and Chris Mercogliano, plenty of entertainment throughout and much, much more! All keynote talks and presentations will take place in the beautiful Julia Howard Bush Memorial Center at Russell Sage College in Troy, New York which is beautifully adorned with Tiffany stained glass windows (the most per square mile in the world in fact!).
Simply put, with the success of last year's third annual conference and the dire need for change in the education system, the stage has been set for this year's conference to have quite a far-reaching effect.
